so after 4 months on a hunger strike and on the brink of death Cuban dissident Guillermo Farinas got a win of sorts for the jailed dissidents, the jailed dissidents will be released but they have to leave the Cuban nation, thanks to an accord between the catholic church and Spain the prisoners will begin leaving staring with seven and in the course of the following months the rest will leave with their families. The Cuban government has always had the stance that these prisoners are mercenaries for the US government, so why let them go now, is it that they did not want the pr nightmare stemming from the death of another dissident or are they just trying to change their image to the outside world of course they still have to release the rest of the prisoners. if they want to their image they have to go a long way, lets hope this is more than a pr campaign USA vs Arizona 07/07/2010
it took some time after being announced on Ecuadorian television(click to see video) no less, the US government has finally joined the fray and has sued(click to see document) the Arizona immigration law or sb1070. It has done it on the basis that states can not make laws that enforce Immigration and therefore its stepping over constitutional lines, whats more interesting to me is that the Us is not suing over the racial profiling aspect of the law that has the potential to happen, if it has not happen already, so is the government worried that the peoples rights are being violated or is it more worried that if they don't put their foot down now other states might go over the constitutional line. lets hope that that is not the case and see how this case goes in the courts. le tomó algún tiempo después de haber sido anunciado en la televisión ecuatoriana (click para ver video) no menos, el gobierno de EE.UU. finalmente se unió a la refriega y ha demandado (click para ver documento) la ley de inmigración de Arizona o sb1070. Se ha hecho sobre la base de que los estados no pueden hacer leyes que hacen cumplir la inmigración y por lo tanto pasar por encima de sus líneas constitucionales, lo que es más interesante para mí es que el gobierno no está demandando el aspecto de perfiles raciales de la ley que tiene el potencial de que ocurrir , si no ha ocurrido ya, por lo que es el gobierno preocupado de que los derechos de los pueblos se están violando o es más preocupados de que si no los dejan ser ahora otros estados podrían ir en la línea constitucional. esperemos que ese no es el caso y ver cómo su caso se lleve ante los tribunales. Durante la primera semana de la Copa del Mundo hizimos una toma a que equipos pasarian de la fase de grupos a la ronda de 16. Estamos considerados uno de los grupos de más alto riesgo para desarrollar diabetes y tenemos el doble de probabilidades de desarrollar complicaciones de la misma - complicaciones tales como: presión arterial alta, enfermedades del corazón, enfermedad renal, ceguera, amputaciones y daños a los nervios. Unemployed? We cannot hire you! A few days ago, while perusing the net, I found an article about companies not hiring people that are unemployed, I was very surprise and flabbergasted, aren’t those the first people that should be considered? I not an economist or anything like that, but wouldn’t more people working mean more spending money? Ergo the economy can come out a float a little bit sooner; so why are these companies taking this stand? Well according to this article, because they automatically assumed that the person was probably let go because of “low performance” or “inability to preformed his/her job duties” which now a days this assumption is ludicrous, giving the fact that there are thousands of people unemployed due to a big number of companies that had to close their doors, went belly up or had to downside due to the economic crash. No wonder why our economy is going down the toilet every day more and more, with “companies” like these, taking this ridiculous stand doesn’t seem we are going to be coming out of this black hole anytime soon. ¿Desempleado? ¡No podemos contratarte! Hace unos días, mientras leía las noticias en la red, encontré un artículo sobre empresas que no quieren contratar personas que están desempleadas, este artículo me sorprendió mucho y me dejo casi sin palabras ¿No deberían ser estas las primeras personas que deben ser consideradas? No soy economista ni nada que se le parezca, pero ¿más gente trabajando = más dinero para gastar? Y de esa forma ayudando a que la economía puede salir a flote un poco más rápido, entonces ¿por qué estas compañías han tomado esta posición? Bueno de acuerdo a este artículo, por que automáticamente asumen que la persona fue probablemente despedida a causa de "bajo rendimiento" o "incapacidad de preformar sus funciones de trabajo", ahora en día esta hipótesis es absurda, dando al hecho de que hay miles de personas desempleadas debido a que un gran número de compañías tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas o reducir su trabajadores debido al bajo en la economía. No es de extrañarse el por qué nuestra economía va por el inodoro cada día más y más, con "empresas" como estas, tomado esta posición ridícula no parece que vamos a salir de este agujero negro muy pronto. At times like these I am glad I live here, in the U.S where freedom of speech and the press are a given. I read a story from Venezuela in which the president of Globovision, Guillermo Zuluaga is the subject of an arrest warrant for supposedly "hoarding cars" - the reality of the situation is that Zuluaga and the Globovision channel are strong critics of Chavez "dictatorship" government. The arrest warrant was issued after a televised speech by Chavez in which he expressed his disappointment that Zuluaga was walking around free, during the speech Chavez sated that Zuluaga should go to the U.S and criticize the U.S president, which thanks to our constitution we can criticize our leaders and would not be subject to arrest, so in your face Chavez!! While on the subject of laws in the U.S. I feel compel to mention the Arizona immigration law sb1070 which gives law enforcement the power to check immigration status if they have reason to (not giving eye contact, nervousness, lack of English) so if you are in AZ, don’t speak fluent English and you are not carrying your immigration papers (who does?) you are going to have a bad day, but not pleased or satisfied with this new law, now State Representative Russell Pearce has a new law in the works, that would deny birth certificates to children born to illegal immigrants (how can this man sleep at night!) The state of Arizona is now on the news every other day because of their new immigration laws which allows police officers to check immigration status if they have reasonable suspicion. While this new law has been much debated they have another idea in the works. State senator Russell Pearce (R) has a new law in the works which would deny American born kids their birth certificates based on the parents legal status and would really go against the US Constitution and the 14th amendment which in short states that "all persons, born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States." While I do agree that there should be an immigration reform and better protection of the borders I do not agree that birth certificates be denied to kids born in the U.S and really not appreciate a law that is implying that illegals are coming here to have American babies so they can stay. Immigrants come here to better their lives and that of their families they are not coming here to have kids and get to stay here because of their kids nationality. It is time for a change and that change can only be made through voting, so the next time that you have to vote pick your choice wisely. Dia 2 de Futbol 06/12/2010
Hoy Fue un Gran dia de futbol, se comenzo con Corea de el Sur contra Grecia no un gran partido pero un poco interesante, seguido por Argentina contra Nigeria que estuvo no apto para cardiacos pero que argentina gano. Para acabar el dia vimos al equipo de todos USA vs Inglatera que estubo supremamente bueno y el cual quedaron empatados pero hubo muchas oportunidades. First Post! 06/11/2010
